This is notoriously known as a very stiff computational problem because of the large difference in acoustic and velocity scales at low Mach number. Critical applications which are studied are low speed combustion and flame propagation, two phase flows, vessel pressurisation and plume formation, but also flow in high lift devices in aeronautics.
