Rotating turbulent flows have received considerable attention due to their numerous occurrences in both geophysical and industrial fluid dynamics. The Coriolis force which arises from the system rotation gives rise to fascinating flow phenomena for both wall bounded and free shear flows. The purpose of this Lecture Series proceedings are to offer a full overview of the physics, modeling and simulation and measurement of turbulent flows affected by system rotation.

The first part of the book introduce the important concepts and phenomena related to turbulent flows with system rotation, complete with an overview of those phenomena important to turbomachinery applications. This is followed by a state-of-the-art in numerical simulation of rotating system flows including LES and turbulence modeling. It is then concluded with a look at experimental measurement of flows with system rotation.

The context of the Lecture Series is arranged to be applicable to the researcher interested in fundamental turbulent flows and, with an emphasis on applications to turbomachinery, those interested in industrial flows.
